Return Duct Sizer & Ceiling Void Check

The three things that turn a scheduled fan coil into a site change order: the return duct is undersized, the ceiling void is too shallow, or the condensate cannot fall. Pick a model and check all three before the ceiling closes.

Return-duct sections are manufacturer recommendations at 3.5 m/s on high-speed airflow; re-check against your site velocity in the 2.5–4 m/s band and take the lower value in noise-sensitive rooms. Unit height is 240 mm on every KAFP size; the ~300 mm void reserve is 240 body + 30–50 above (hangers) + 20–30 below (drain). Condensate rule: DN20 drain at minimum 1% fall (10 mm per metre). This tool is a pre-check to catch the obvious misses; confirm the installation with Koven Air engineering.
